Lesson Plan for Podcast!

We created a lesson plan that we can use in the classroom for demonstrating a podcast. The just of my lesson plan is to expose the kids to beign able to know what a podcast is and for them to be able to use it in a way that helps them learn content. The students will each be assigned a president and do a few minutes podcast saying the five questions assigned to them on their specific president. Pod Cast

Podcast- Today I learned how to create my very own pod cast and I half to admitt it was pretty cool! The subjects that I chose to was a combination of Social Studies and reading because I am currently in Social Studies Methods. For my lesson I did not read from a script but read from a book about Abe Lincoln if you would like to purchase the book the link as follows will take you to a site and it is a book worth having in your libary! I created this graph by using kids zone graph which is a quick and easy way to make charts an graphs to use in the classroom. I found my IEP data for the graph on National Report Card and then the per capital income was on Info please.

NAEP 4th grade West Virginia math tren


As you can tell from the graph 4th grade West Virginia math scores are contiuing to go up, although they are not as high as the National Standars it is looking promising that they will soon get there.

A new exciting tool! 2-3-09

Today we dove into a new and exciting education tool, the website to this tool is intel teaching tool or is also found in my blog under the links as Intel teaching tools. The new tool that we used today is called the Visual Ranking Tool. It is a handy new tool for teachers to be able to test the abillity of there students right here on the web. I created a sample evaluation that you are more than welcome to explore my topic which is patritoic holidays. If you click on the visual ranking tool from the site you can use my user name which is khickson @ fairmontstate.edu and for the user name and passoword you can use on of the following: Team 1 password. A, Team 2, password B, Team 3, password C, Team 4, password D, or team 5 password E. Check it out it a very useful tool!

My name is Kelli Hickson and I am from Pocahontas County. I have two older sisters who both live in state, one which is pregnant with twins! I am an Elementary Education major and really enjoy kids in age range from 4- 10. I am excited in learning more about technology because of all the opportunities to communicate with lots of people. My hobbies include skiing, working out, and shopping of coarse!
